Toys R Us Is Coming to Oviedo Mall
Toys”R”Us is opening a new, year-round store at Oviedo Mall in Oviedo, bringing one of the most recognizable names in toys to the area just ahead of the 2026 holiday shopping season.
When Will Toys”R”Us Open at Oviedo Mall?
An official opening date has not been announced, but mall officials have pointed to an early October timeframe. The store’s hours, its exact location inside the mall, and any opening celebrations will be shared once details are finalized.
Will the Oviedo Store Be Open Year-Round?
Yes. The Oviedo Mall location will be a permanent, year-round store rather than a seasonal holiday pop-up. Josh Gunderson, the mall’s marketing and events director, said, “Getting to welcome Toys”R”Us to Oviedo Mall year-round feels incredibly special.”
What Will the Store Carry?
New Toys”R”Us stores will carry toys and collectibles from brands including LEGO, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Pokémon, and KPop Demon Hunters. Some locations will also feature Creator Studios for product launches and toy reveals, along with candy shops and cafés. It hasn’t been announced which of those features, if any, the Oviedo store will include.
Why Is Toys”R”Us Opening New Stores?
The Oviedo store is part of a nationwide expansion adding 120 standalone Toys”R”Us stores this holiday season, bringing the U.S. total to 160. The rollout is a partnership between Toys”R”Us owner WHP Global and Go! Retail Group. Central Florida is also seeing growth at Orlando International Airport, where the first of two Toys”R”Us shop-in-shops opened in August, with a second planned for summer 2027.
What Else Is Happening at Oviedo Mall?
The mall is in the middle of a broader revitalization that includes plans for roughly 700 apartments on the property. Mall officials say the goal is a wider mix of shopping, dining, entertainment, and community events.
What This Means
A year-round Toys”R”Us gives families in Oviedo and across Seminole County a nearby place to shop for toys during the holidays and beyond. For Oviedo Mall, it’s another step in an ongoing effort to bring shoppers back and give people more reasons to spend time there.
