Orlando coffee just earned the No. 1 ranking in the country, according to WalletHub’s 2026 study of the best cities for coffee lovers. The study compared the 100 largest U.S. cities across 12 factors, from coffee shop density to household spending.
Why Did Orlando Rank So High?
Orlando scored a 68.55 out of 100, edging out Portland, Oregon’s 66.74 for the No. 1 overall spot in the nation. Orlando households spend an average of more than $154 per year on coffee, and the city had the highest number of coffee and tea shops offering free Wi-Fi per capita among all cities studied. Orlando also ranked among the top cities for affordable coffee shops rated at least 4.5 out of 5 stars, and had the highest number of donut shops per capita in the study.
How Did Other Florida Cities Rank?
Miami came in third nationally with a score of 65.74, while Tampa placed sixth with a score of 63.91. St. Petersburg landed at No. 50 and Jacksonville at No. 54, giving Florida multiple cities in the national top 10 and reinforcing the state’s growing reputation among coffee lovers.
