Stalled Kissimmee Hotel-Condo Project Set to Restart in Late 2026
A long-stalled hotel-condo project on Sycamore Resort Drive in Kissimmee has a new owner and a target restart date in late 2026. Unity Stone Group purchased the property in 2025 and is now preparing to break ground on the long-delayed Sycamore Orlando Resort development.
What Happened to the Original Project?
The project stalled after the original developer, Primeland Real Estate Development, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2024 with roughly $41.7 million in debt. The site went up for auction in April 2025 and changed hands before Unity Stone Group acquired it for $9.5 million.
What’s Planned for the Site?
The completed project will include 378 hotel-condo vacation rental units on about 10 acres at 2961 Sycamore Resort Drive. The development is budgeted at an estimated $140 million and will include a clubhouse, rooftop lounge, fitness center, and meeting space. Unity Stone Group is targeting the fourth quarter of 2026 to break ground.
Why Does the Location Matter?
The site sits just a few miles from Walt Disney World and other major hotel properties, placing it inside one of Central Florida’s busiest tourism corridors. That proximity to consistent visitor demand is a key reason the new ownership group is moving forward with the restart.
What This Means for the Kissimmee Area
A completed 378-unit project brings renewed investor confidence, steady visitor traffic, and economic activity back to a site that’s sat unfinished for years. For homeowners and buyers near Osceola County‘s tourism corridor, ongoing development like this is generally a positive signal for the surrounding area.
